About Us

My Story:

My name is LLoni Cunningham and creating a website to share what I'm learning comes natural to me. In my heart I'm a writer first, always have been. Actually producing websites is new; I still have a lot more to learn about it, but I try not to let my need for "perfection" get in the way of "progress" of the other new experiences I have a chance to enjoy.

Quilting is one of those new experiences. I'm finally retired after nearly fifty years in the workforce, and trying to do some of the things I've always wanted to do but didn't have the time. Thanks to my dear long-time friend Sue Schroyer, I'm being immersed in the fine art from a real professional.

In 1959-60, Sue taught me to use my first sewing machine so I could make maternity clothes before my son was born. Then, in 1970 when I was off work waiting for my third baby, she taught me to crochet an afghan (which I still make now). Quilting was always on the horizon; maybe even more so when all three of my children were grown and had children of their own, but my head just wouldn't go there until I'd retired and could spend more than an occasional weekend to understand there's a lot more to Quilting than just sewing two pieces of fabic together with some batting inside.

I hope you'll join me as I travel this new path. And I hope you'll visit the Forum and leave messages about what you see and what you'd like to see. May your days be blessed with goodness and love, and may each day bring you wonderful adventures.

LLoni
